When shopping for a used keyboard, a person may find that a new keyboard costs less than a used one.. The problem comes not from duplicity on the part of the shopkeepers, but rather from the types of keyboards that are sold to the average consumer. A buyer who does not want to pay the high price should buy the new keyboards from Target, Wal-Mart or Radio Shack. The keyboards sold used are often sold to professional musicians Sometimes a person can find great deals in his Penny Advertiser, but this is not the best place to find used keyboards.
Although it may seem corny or clichd by now, one of the best places to find anything online is Ebay. The online auction site contains a number of used and new keyboards. The prices depend on the seller, what seller wants for the instrument, and what the seller thinks he can sell the used keyboard for. When buying anything from Ebay, the buyer cannot test the equipment before it arrives. He will not know if the used keyboard really is in pristine out of the box condition or if it is missing 15 of its 49 total keys.
