Melodyne VS. Autotune: Which Pitch Correction Software Is Best?

Auto-Tune has been the leader for many years and now has a fifth release on the market for downloading to the studio interface. There is every reason to feel confident in continuing to use Auto-Tune, however, the third release of the second most preferred competitor, Celemony’s Melodyne, is taking a big bite out of the pitch correction market share.
To make this choice between the first two leaders in the market, it is good to review the qualities and features of each one.Get more information here. http://makerofspace.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/gear-review-sort-of-celemony-melodyne/ It is important to note that Auto-Tune and Melodyne operate in diverse ways. With Auto-Tune the function is simple and automatic as plugging in the software to the single voice track or monophonic track while allowing the correction to take place through out the performance. If there is a need to do more elaborate pitch correction, as in various phrases during a session or performance, the Auto-Tune Graphic feature, that shows the pitch curve for each tone, can be used for editing.

In the past, Melodyne worked as a single program that would link to the sequencer with an individual plug in by the name of Melodyne Bridge. The audio had to be played through for pre correction of the pitch. After audio played through the Melodyne Bridge it played through the Melodyne software. Once in the Melodyne application a file is created by Melodyne. The separateness and lagging in process does give a seemingly less integrated status with the DAW. Looking at things from a completely functional perspective, the Melodyne process can have an advantageous function in that the pitch can be completely changed along with the way a melodic phrase is synched to the pitch. Auto-Tune’s process cannot do that. There a certain allotment or a ‘play,’ factor with Melodyne that invites creativity. This does not exist with Auto-Tune.
